Synopsis:

The film revolves around a Dharampal (Paresh Rawal) who is a religion based discriminator,he alienates other people because they are not of his religion.Things change when he finds out that he was adopted as a son in a Hindu family but was born in a Muslim family. Facing a religious crisis he starts to look for his biological family. He finds out that his father was looking for him all his life and is at the edge of end.Dharampal is asked to learn Islamic ways and is kept from his father.On other hand his son asks him to learn proper Hindu ways and become a follower of a questionable religious leader Saint Neeelambar (Naseerudin Shah) followed by the mob blinded by irrationally backward thinking. Under the confusion of learning both ways;one for love from his long lost father and other one for duty towards his son and son''s love his study of the two religions enlightmens him.In order to learns these ways he bonds with a Islamic neighbour Anu Kapoor and develops a change of heart.He starts to criticize the people who discriminated others and He shows the real face of the Saint Neelambar to everyone.
